The Women’s Empowerment Network Presents: The President Barack Obama Lifetime Achievement Award Luncheon

On Saturday, April 29th,  Dr. Lenora Peterson & The Women’s Empowerment Network, founded by  entrepreneur, fashion designer, and star of Bravo’s “Married To Medicine”, Lisa Nicole Cloud, will present The President Barack Obama’s Lifetime Achievement Awards during a private luncheon in Atlanta, Georgia. Taking place at one of Atlanta’s premiere locations, The Intercontinental Buckhead (3315 Peachtree Road, Atlanta, GA 30326) from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm. The Women’s Empowerment Network will honor 25 amazing leaders (some to be announced at a later date) from across the nation for their exemplary volunteer services. This exclusive luncheon will attract some of the most powerful business owners, politicians, and leaders in the nation. The President Barack Obama Lifetime Achievement Award was created to “Thank” and “Honor” Americans who have demonstrated commitment to volunteer services as well as inspire others to engage in volunteer services. Some of those being honored include:

Afemo Omilami

He is a Actor, Humanitarian and the COO of Hosea Helps (Formerly Hosea Feed The Hungry) and an  NAACP Image Award recipient for his performance in Lifetime’s Steel Magnolias as Drum Eatenton. He is perhaps best known for his role as the Drill Sergeant in Forrest Gump (1994).  Afemo Omilami has appeared in hundreds of films and plays including Glory (1989), The Firm (1993), Gordy (1995), Remember the Titans (2000), HBO’s True Detective, Starz’s Survivor’s Remorse, & Bounce TV’s Saints & Sinners  and many more. Afemo, along with his wife, founded and operates a school for the underprivileged children of Mindanou,Haiti and Uganda, where she sponsors several orphanages.

Alissa R. Jones

Alissa R. Jones is the founder` and CEO of Survivors With Voices Foundation. Survivors With Voices Foundation is a nonprofit organization which caters to the needs of survivors of all types.. Even though based in Houston, Texas her efforts have expanded the non-profit into six cities & states. In those six cities & states (Columbus, Ohio; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Virginia Beach, Virginia; Atlanta, Georgia; Fayetteville, North Carolina; Houston Texas) there are Chapter Presidents who represent SWV Foundation. She is a woman who walks the talk by teaching others the practical life skills she has adapted into her own healing.

Dr. Christopher Chappell

Dr. Chappell is a powerful and charismatic figure widely recognized for UniFest, an event that brings together the leaders in business, government, community and nonprofit organizations for awareness and to execute plans for a wholesome municipality. In addition to his national impact, he is internationally sought after in Canada, Israel, and Africa to speak at conferences and serves as venture counsel and advisor for global development. As advisor and developer, he is currently serving as project leader for a multi-million dollar expansion of Grace Community Christian Church. Dr.Chappell also assisted with the development of the Mount Olive Prep program.  This program was designed to give high school seniors that received sports scholarships with low entrance exams scores an additional opportunity to remain in school without losing their eligibility. Mount Olive Prep gives each of the students an additional opportunity through prep classes for SAT, ACT while allowing the student athlete the opportunity to play basketball without losing eligibility.This year on Easter, his congregation will forego their traditional Easter service to give back and feed 5000 people in the metro Atlanta area. Dr. Chappell’s vision is to bring together as many families as possible and provide each of them with a nutritious meal and provide needed services.

Rev. Claudia Cofield

Reverend Cofield is a woman full of passion for her Ministry. She has selflessly served her family church and Community for many years. Reverend Cofield was the first woman to be elevated to the office of deacon at her local church where she continues to be an active member. Not only has she taught Sunday school for 25 years and established the Noonday Bible study when she imparts her wisdom to eager students on a weekly basis but she also established the Christian education Ministry at Holly Springs United Church of Christ. Reverend Cofield was sworn in as a volunteer Wake County Guardian Ad Litem on August 14, 2009 and has served as Wake County notary public. Reverend Cofield served on the Holly Springs planning board for 10 years where she stood out as a community activist in the cause of Justice due to a county decision to place another landfill in a historically black community. She is a licensed ordained minister through the Southern Conference of the United Church of Christ in the eastern North Carolina Association.

Deanna Hamilton

Deanna Hamilton is a woman of faith and passion.  She’s a wife, mother, and an astute businesswoman. Deanna became a Certified Life, Christian, and Business Coach in 2013 and started Success Coaching Systems, a private coaching practice focused on helping women entrepreneurs live their best life and build their best business! It is Deanna’s commitment to mentoring young girls that captured the attention of B2F Girls and was awarded the Mentoring Star Award during the 2015 Tween Star Awards. This professional business woman is also very active in her community.  She is ordained in the office of Deacon and is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. where she serves as the Economic Development Chairperson in her local chapter.  Deanna aspires to inspire as many individuals as possible to achieve extraordinary success in business and in life.  Deanna has helped develop and train thousands of individuals to achieve success in many aspects of their lives and she knows there are many more waiting to be impacted.

Elisabeth Omilami

She is CEO of Hosea Helps (Formerly Hosea Feed The Hungry) and the daughter of Civil-Rights Activist  Hosea Williams and State Representative Juanita T. Williams. She expanded programs that would meet the basic needs of the working poor and homeless along a continuum of care leading to self-sufficiency from four months to year-round services and established medical clinics, clothing distribution, barber and beautician services, children’s educational programs, and home delivery of over 22,000 dinners per year. She has spoken and toured worldwide for several international relief efforts in places like the Philippines, where she has founded and operates a school for the underprivileged children of Mindanou,Haiti and Uganda, where she sponsors several orphanages.Omilami has been acknowledged many times for her humanitarian service.

Gregory Levett Sr.

Mr. Gregory B. Levett, Sr. is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Gregory B. Levett & Sons Funeral Homes in Decatur, Scottdale and Lawrenceville, Georgia. Mr. Levett has served on the DRHS Board since 2001 and also chairs the DeKalb County Hospital Authority. He serves as Chairman of Advisory Board at DeKalb Medical Center, Inc. He has been a Director of Dekalb Regional Healthcare System Inc. since 2001.

John Hollins, Jr.

John W, Hollins, Jr, the President of the 100 Black Men of DeKalb County Inc., follows in a long legacy of leaders, passionate about improving the quality of life for youth and the citizens of underserved communities across this nation.The organization provides scholarships, leadership programs, international travel and mentoring to young men and women throughout the Metro Atlanta area.  John and his colleagues have executed a reading program targeted at 800 elementary school kids in DeKalb, partnering with the DeKalb Sheriff Department and DeKalb Lawyers Association, to work with Title One schools in DeKalb’s District 5, to emphasize the significance of reading and education. Through his leadership, members have also implemented the first STEM program which focuses on the development of Drones. Hollins made the Academic Athletic Honor as a Junior and was invited as an unrestricted free agent by the Pittsburgh Pirates Organization preceding the 1986 MLB Draft his senior year. John uses this experience to give back to his community by running a youth baseball program to provide leadership and guidance to inner city baseball players; partnering with MLB Community Affairs department and the Atlanta Braves to provide leadership and mentoring through baseball. He has been responsible directly and indirectly for helping over 50 kids attend college with 3 currently in professional baseball. In addition,John W. Hollins, Jr. is a Sr. Account Executive with CBS 46 TV.

Larita Rice

Larita Rice is an author, entrepreneur, life coach, and Pastor. She is the world renowned author of “Trapped in the System,” a book designed to reveal the tricks of the enemy and the tactics he uses to bring about our destruction. A powerful agent of change, through the authority of God, she travels about, helping others discover their identities, compelling them to maximize their potential, and equipping them to use their God-given talents to the Glory of the Most High. In 2007, she founded Women of Excellence Midwest, an organization established as a safe haven for battered, abused, and rejected women to heal and be emboldened to move forward. Three years later, she established the non-profit organization Living Life to the Fullest CDC, which provides workshops, seminars, and advocacy classes on self-empowerment.  Larita Rice has solidified herself as a valued and incomparable member of, not only her local community, but also the global community.

Mawuli Davis, esq

He is a founding partner of the Davis Bozeman Law Firm, the leader of the firm’s Civil Rights Division,and a United States Navy Veteran.He is a proud member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. and the DeKalb Chapter of the 100 Black Men of America.  Attorney Davis serves on the boards of the Southern Center for Human Rights, Kilombo, Walter Rodney Foundation, DeKalb Lawyers Association, P.R.O. Conscious Athletes, and the Decatur Family YMCA. As an activist, Attorney Davis is a co-founder of Let Us Make Man.  After the acquittal of George Zimmerman, he was one of the primary organizers for the march of over 5,000 protestors from the Atlanta University Center to CNN Headquarters.

Munson Steed

Munson Steed is the Chief Executive Officer of Steed Media Group, Inc., a multimedia conglomerate that includes newspapers, magazines, television programs, comic books, websites, and a record label. Steed is the company’s visionary, continually accessing the industry terrain, developing new ideas and producing projects that expand his new view of the world. He is responsible for the overall management of the company. Steed’s vision includes a convergence of print, music, and electronic media. Dr. Myla Bennett

She is a board certified plastic surgeon, skin care expert and entrepreneur. Dr. Myla Bennett is the owner of Ederra Bella Plastic Surgery and Medical Spa- a multi million dollar plastic surgery center. She is a business mogul who has become one of the most sought after business coaches on the east coast. During her medical training, she continued to focus on giving back to young aspiring medical professionals. She has volunteered as an instructor in science summer camps for high school inner city students interested in medicine via the MD Camp. She was also 1 of 5 people who opened and ran a free clinic for underprivileged citizens of Columbus, Ohio. She conducted community outreach at the local elementary schools and assisted 3rd and 4th graders with Reading and Math skills within the Columbus, Ohio school system.  In addition, Dr.Myla focused on ensuring that she reached out to the middle school and high school students to assist them with goal setting and college entry.

Dr. Rashad Richey

Dr. Rashad Richey is a true force in the field of politics, social advocacy and government policy; electing people at virtually every level of government. With an uncompromising passion to help others and an unwavering desire to mentor our nation’s youth, Rashad has truly transformed his mess into his message and encourages others to do the same. Rashad is a highly sought after political strategist, mentor, and inspirational speaker. Dr. Renata W. Hannah

Dr. Renata W. Hannah, is a John Maxwell Certified Executive Coach, Teacher and Speaker. Dr. Hannah offers trainings, workshops, seminars, and coaching, aiding an individual’s personal and professional growth through study and practical application of John’s proven leadership methods. Shirley Gammage

An Ordained Evangelist and Certified Professional Life Coach, Ms. Gammage  is very prominent in her community and beyond.  She influences people through her ministry and coaching services and has personally ministered and coached thousands. Ms. Gammage has empowered and motivated women in heightening their awareness in the areas of cancer, addiction, domestic violence, health, marriage, parenting, etc.

Dr. Shoanmarie Pope

She is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner, Health & Wellness Expert, and Corporate Trainer. For more than 15 years, Dr. Pope has helped her patients achieve optimal wellness through her practice, Optimal Health Wellness Center, which is based in the metropolitan Atlanta area. Her profession as a chiropractor, combined with advanced health and wellness training and a heart’s desire to positively impact the lives of others, is an amazing testament of all that makes her the phenomenal woman that she is. Dr. Pope is a speaker, coach and trainer on the John C. Dr. Sonja Stribling

Dr. Sonja Stribling is the founder and CEO of Next Level Living 2.0. Her mission is to mentor and coach aspiring business owners to maximize their earning potential. She has served the country for 21 years in the Adjutant General Corps and retired as a Major from the US Army.  During her service she participated in 3 combat tours which included: Kuwait (2), Iraq (1) & Operation Iraqi Freedom. Due to her service, she received numerous Army Medals including: Meritorious Service Medal (MSM) 2, Joint Service Commendation Medal (JSCM), Joint Meritorious Unit Award (JMUA) and many more. Teresita Glasglow

A published author, speaker, coach, licensed minister and blog talk radio talk show host, Teresita is always moving forward and conquering new heights. Teresita’s life goal is always to give back and pay it forward, through her writing, speaking and coaching; she has contributed to all who come into contact with her. Teresita competed in the coveted Toastmasters International Speech Contest, winning the contest on three levels; club, Area, Division levels and also competing in the semifinals.
